03 numbers are now available and you can reserve them straight away but we recommend that you wait for confirmation of the amount your callers will pay to call 03's before proceeding. As of Mid October, we are still waiting for confirmation from Ofcom as to whether the mobile Networks will include 03's in landline and mobile calling tariffs. The sole reason for having an 03 number is to benefit from Intelligent Network functionality but at regular call charges to callers. If mobile callers are charged more than they are charged for calling an ordinary land line the concept does not work.
Another new alternative to 03, is the Local Presence Number i.e. 020 7222 XXXX, which can now be made to work like a non geographic number, with all the benefits, and the associated costs. With a local presence number, you do not have the national presence of a non geographic 03 number but mobile calls will definitely be at the lowest rate, or "bundled" in your inclusive minutes.
